Improve Your Listening. Improve Your Life!

I am a Harvard graduate, former professional modern dancer, Massage Therapist since 1984, voice teacher and a mom of 2 teenage boys. I came to The Listening Program® through my own search to recover my voice after acid reflux ended my professional singing career. I found it so exciting I became a Certified Provider BC. My varied background, years of experience and knowledge of anatomy and physiology have given me a broad understanding and unique expertise to use in my teaching and therapeutic work. I enjoy working with children and adults, and look forward to working with you!

The Listening Program® (TLP) is an affordable, effective, portable and easy-to-use Music-Based Auditory Stimulation™ method that can bring about lasting change. TLP’s clinically-proven approach gently exercises and tones the tiny muscles in the ear and helps build new neural pathways in the brain. The brain receives rich auditory stimulation and its ability to process sound improves. When listening improves, learning and communication improve.

Auditory processing problems are common in people with dyslexia, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD and autism spectrum disorders. Auditory processing problems can lead to academic, emotional, cognitive and social challenges. TLP improves auditory processing, and can help with the following:

•Attention and concentration
•Learning disabilities & dyslexia
•Speech and language
•Memory
•Communication
•Social skills
•Reading & spelling
•Sensory integration
•Self-regulation
•Vocal performance
•Musical expression
•Learning a musical instrument
•Balance & coordination
•Hearing loss related difficulties

All you do is listen to specially modified classical music through headphones. Casual exposure to auditory stimulation will not produce results. The brain must be frequently and repetitively presented with specific auditory stimulation, with the right intensity, and for a sufficient duration of time for effective change. TLP takes place over the course of at least a few months. I will design a listening program with you based on your goals and schedule, monitor your progress, and plan follow-up listening to build on gains.

With TLP, children and adults with learning/attention difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, auditory processing problems, sensory integration and perceptual challenges have experienced profound improvement. For individuals who have hearing loss, TLP can improve the functional use of their remaining hearing.

TLP is an excellent complement to speech/voice therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, tutoring and other therapies. I am always pleased to coordinate with your other providers to optimize your results.

I offer voice lessons and vocal coaching as part of the process for those who wish.
